Marikablack, a Stripchat cam model, is a multi-talented entertainer who has mastered the art of pleasing her fans through her sensual and naughty moves. Her free live show at the Shalin Performing Arts Center is a popular attraction. Marika's history is interesting and full of foreshadowing. She seems to have an emotional and personal motive for betraying The Golden Rule. Unlike some From Software characters, this doesn't feel forced or contrived.
When the player encounters her at the main gate of the temple, she is standing as if guarding something. She could be referring to the fact that Destined Death was sealed inside her body in order to protect herself.
Marika may have done this to protect herself from the consequences of her betrayal. Marika's son Godwin had been killed and the Golden Rule era was destroyed by Ladagon. It would have made sense that she wanted to control her fate to prevent disasters from occurring again.
